        Do the pumpkins come with batteries?

        No, each pumpkin takes three AA batteries and these are not included, so it is worth grabbing a pack when you order. They fit in through the base in under a minute and the pumpkins are glowing straight away.

        The light comes through hundreds of fine etched ribbons rather than one bulb, so it reads as a soft, warm shimmer rather than a lamp. It gives the flicker and warmth of candlelight with nothing to burn, which is why people use these where they would never leave a real flame.

        The large pumpkin stands 7.09 inches tall and 5.91 inches wide, the small one 5.91 inches tall and 5.12 inches wide. Both sit comfortably on a mantel, a console table, a windowsill or a dining centrepiece, and the pair looks best styled together.
